Entry requirements

You must demonstrate a minimum level of English Proficiency to study on our General English course. Students must have a current English Language level suitable for the level they wish to study.
We can accept a range of English Language tests, including:
- IELTS UKVI
- Pearson UKVI
- TOEFL IBT, IELTS and Pearson PTE non-SELT may be considered.

All applicants are expected to complete a short placement test in order to ensure you are allocated to the correct level.
The minimum entry requirements for each level are detailed below:
Pre-Intermediate
We accept students onto the Pre-intermediate level without an English language qualification.

- TOEFL IBT, IELTS and Pearson PTE non-SELT may be considered.
Intermediate
The minimum entry requirements for the Intermediate General English course are outlined below:
Applicants must demonstrate IELTS 4.0+, B1+ or equivalent
We can accept a range of English Language tests, including:
- IELTS UKVI
- Pearson UKVI
- TOEFL IBT, IELTS and Pearson PTE non-SELT may be considered.
Upper-Intermediate
The minimum entry requirements for the Upper-intermediate General English course are outlined below:
Applicants must demonstrate IELTS 5.0+, high B1/B2 or equivalent

- Pearson UKVI
- TOEFL IBT, IELTS and Pearson PTE non-SELT may be considered.
Advanced
The minimum entry requirements for the Advanced General English course are outlined below:
Applicants must demonstrate IELTS 6.5+, high B2/C1 or equivalent

- TOEFL IBT, IELTS and Pearson PTE non-SELT may be considered.
