About

The University Centre for Academic English provides a wide range of courses and services to the whole of The University of Manchester.

The University Centre for Academic English is based in the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures and located in the Samuel Alexander Building.

With nearly 35 teaching and professional services staff, we work together to deliver a high-level of teaching and learning, support student success, and ensure an excellent overall student experience.

We offer a range of general and academic English courses throughout the year and have approximately 2,000 students studying our full-time academic English language courses each year.

Our Pre-sessional courses are accredited by British Association of Lecturers in English for Academic Purposes (BALEAP).
