Private sector accommodation

Manchester Student Homes is a free university-run housing service to help students rent accommodation in the private sector. Accommodation available ranges from room rental in a shared house, and rental of houses, apartments and also residential hall accommodation.

All properties advertised on the are accredited and have signed up to a set of Code of Standards.

Hotel accommodation

If you need accommodation for a short time, you may wish to consider hotel accommodation.

Travelling to your accommodation

Manchester is a major international hub, connected by an excellent transport network. Manchester has its own international airport, making it an easy destination to reach.

Manchester airport can be reached by taxi, train, tram and bus. Many students find when they arrive in Manchester for the first time it is easier to take a taxi to your accommodation. A taxi can be booked online in advance of your arrival.

Halls of residence

The University of Manchester offers a range of university hall accommodation from ensuite bedrooms (own bathroom) to standard bedrooms (shared bathroom) and from fully catered to self-catering.

Private sector accommodation

Manchester Student Homes is a privately run company based in Manchester and Salford which offers a free accommodation letting service to people wanting to rent accommodation in the private sector.
