Entry requirements
Applications are now open for courses starting from October 2024 onwards.
You must demonstrate a minimum level of English proficiency to study on our English for Academic Purposes course. Students must have a current English Language level suitable for the term to which they apply. Applicants with a higher level of English may be considered for a later term. This course is not suitable for advanced students (C1/C2 on the CEFR or IELTS 7.0 overall or in a subskill).
You must be 18 years old or older at the start of the course to be eligible to study the English for Academic Purposes course.
The minimum entry requirements for each term are as follows:

Applicants must have an IELTS score between 5.5 - 6.0 overall, with 5.5 in writing and no less than 5.0 in any sub-skill |
Term 4 | Monday, 30 June - Friday, 5 September 2025 |
We can accept a range of English Language tests, including:
- IELTS UKVI
- Pearson UKVI
