Entry requirements

Applications are now open for intakes starting from October 2025 onwards.

You must demonstrate a minimum level of English proficiency to study on our Pathway to English Language and Academic Skills course. 

The minimum entry requirements are outlined below:

Term 1	Monday, 6 October 2025 - Friday, 12 December 2025	Applicants must have an IELTS score between 4.5 - 5.0 overall, with no less than 4.5 in any sub-skill
Term 2	Monday, 12 January 2026 - Friday, 20 March 2026	Applicants must have an IELTS score between 5.0 - 5.5 overall, with 5.0 in writing and no less than 4.5 in any sub-skill
Term 3	Monday, 6 April 2026 - Friday, 12 June 2026	Applicants must have an offer letter from a UK university IELTS (non-SELT or SELT) result
Term 4	Monday, 6 July 2026 - Friday, 11 September 2026	Offer letter from The University of Manchester.  IELTS (or equivalent) result which shows progression in each skill

All applicants are expected to complete a short 10-minute online placement test.
