Drop-ins

Join us to ask questions about your academic writing, speaking or grammar.

These sessions are for students who have questions about academic writing, speaking, grammar, and other aspects of their academic studies. Students can also receive feedback on a short section of their writing (up to 100 words).

The sessions are led by one of our tutors, who may recommend other Academic Success Programme services or signpost students to other sources of academic support where appropriate.

What should I expect at a drop-in session?

  • It may not be possible to answer every question or review all the text brought to the session.
  • Other students may be able to hear your discussion with the tutor. In online sessions, they may also see any content you share on screen.
  • You are not expected to stay for the entire session.
  • If you join an online session, please keep your microphone muted until you are speaking.
  • You may need to wait while the tutor supports other students.
  • We encourage you to keep your camera on during online sessions, particularly when receiving feedback.
